Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of protection to your account. Cut.bd supports two methods:

TOTP (Authenticator App)

  1. Go to Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication and click Add Authenticator App.
  2. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, etc.).
  3. Enter the 6-digit code to confirm setup.
  4. Save your backup codes — shown once, and the only way to regain access if you lose your device.

Passkeys / Hardware Keys (WebAuthn)

Click Add Passkey on the Security page and follow your browser's prompt to register a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a physical security key). Passkeys are phishing-resistant and don't require a code — just a biometric or tap.

Backup codes

Each time you enroll a 2FA factor, Cut.bd generates a set of single-use backup codes. Store them securely. If you lose access to all 2FA factors, backup codes are the only way to recover your account without contacting support. You can regenerate them at any time — old codes are invalidated immediately.
