What happens to my links if I downgrade or cancel?

All existing links remain active and continue to redirect. You lose access to premium features on new links, and your analytics history is trimmed to your new plan's retention window at the next nightly purge.

Can I use the same custom domain across multiple workspaces?

No. A custom domain can only be attached to one workspace at a time.

Does changing the destination URL break the short link?

No. The slug and short URL stay the same; only the redirect destination changes. QR codes continue to work.

Is the raw API key stored on Cut.bd's servers?

No. Cut.bd stores only a salted SHA-256 hash of your key. The raw key is shown once at creation.

How accurate is the geo-IP location data?

Country-level accuracy is typically above 98%. Region and city accuracy varies by ISP and geography — treat city-level data as an estimate.

What counts as a "bot click"?

Cut.bd flags clicks where the user-agent string matches known crawlers, scrapers, link previewers, and monitoring tools. Bot clicks are tracked but excluded from the unique-visitors metric.

How do I recover my account if I lose my 2FA device and backup codes?

Contact support with proof of identity. Account recovery without backup codes requires manual verification.
